hi...
we went for a short vacation..yeeee....and we saw birds :)
yup i`ll drive you crazy for next few weeks coz i have to make so many birds i saw there....the first one on the list is red whiskered bulbul....
 this one jumped all around our cottage like crazy...i loved her

hi everyone...
   both us got busy again...my lil girl and I...i needed some stringy lights for my art wall... i know there are dozens available in the market...but they dont have my mark on it ;)...so both of us ( mostly me) sat down for this task.. (ordeal i must say) ...i began three weeks ago with the grand idea of making five petal stocking flowers for each of my 80 lights on the string....gosh!!!
    it ate up into so much of my time and by end of two weeks...after using all of my spare time....i managed to finish only forty...i dont know if i was too slow ;)..butttt i got bored..yup
    then v decided to use some beautiful hand painted paper to cover the remaining lights .....nd my lil girl dutifully painted me some....nd they are lovely :)
we wrapped those around our lights....yes we love the effect..hope you guys too :)

hi,
another of my journals finished....i had such fun filling all its pages....i was actually sorry that it had only so many pages :)...then my lil girl said...mom u should paint the cover too...then it`ll be truly urs.
i grapped the idea...although i know its not a new one...but still i needed alil nudge :)
    so at first i thought I`ll make a girl face..front profile...i sketched well but the painting went all bad...nd i lost all the interest...then thought i`ll make a waves and boat kinda thing...that didnt work out as well..
then i kept the journal down nd went out sat in my garden...sitting outside with birds nd flowers always inspires me :)..nd i decided to draw a hibiscus..
and i love the colour ..texture nd whole feel of thing...i hope u guys like it too :)

this week i just found out this amazing challenge on http://lulupu.blogspot.in/. the challenge was to make a card...using watercolours :) amongst other things. Watercolours are my favourite medium...i love using them in all my art work ...almosttt ;).
 I have never made a card ever before...i colour my journal pages..i have done canvas..i have painted on cloth..footwear (YUP) ...wood..bottles...but never ever made a card before :) . So with this challenge i broke boundaries ;)...
     i hope you all like it :)

i made the blue background with watecolour and salt technique...then i made this flower and leaf doodle . I then dyed watecolour paper with colours and made these flowers..nd stuck some shiny beads in the middle. I stamped Merci (which means thank you in french) on sheet.Then just stuck everything together...and viola...heres the card...

I loved dyeing the paper for my hand made flowers... :)

i recently saw some beautiful flowers on an art journal....i had to try them out for myself....i love using all my supplies...so i went beserk..used pens ,charcoal,watercolours,stamps,glue and what not...and in the end i came up with this ...imperfect yet totally perfect page for my art journal!!!!

today i am very excited to share with you all my lil girl`s art!!! last night i told her that she could do whatever she wants to do...but she has to be quiet :)...yup thats a task staying quiet.. ;)
 so she made this amazingly beautiful flower on some random paper which v meant to throw out....it was art in purest form....i was delighted.....the flower was exquisite!!!! it reminded me of this famous quote

the flower made the crazy juices flow inside my head and i made a multi media collage of it...that random piece of paper meant to throw away :). like every mother i would say ..my child delights me to no end...but her constantly  very confident and very creative outlook of life surprises me always..:)

her art always inspires me !!! 

this is my husbands favourite destination....he has been there once...but not a day passes by when he doesnt talk about france once...its his favourite place to go on his travel itinerary..hence finds a place on our bliss collage...there is something of each one of us on this piece :)

i am crazy about birds!!! actually more than spotting them i like drawing them... when i was a little girl a lot of Hoopoes use to roam around our garden and our house...at that time the birders in our family had yet not awakened,hence we use to call those Hoopoes......woodpecker....v did'nt knew the difference.
 finally my uncle took interest in birds , and started studying them with such passion that entire family was bitten by this bird buggg!!! now all of us in the family can boast as amateur birders..
i don't why i was reminded of this small and very abstract happening during my childhood...but i decide to draw a woodpecker. so here it is :)

i made the background of this page with my own handmade stamp....stitching paper on paper is my new love....so did that too :)

a new step

   This is my 74th post....as one can obviously make out that I consider these posts some sort of milestones for me...I would like to tell my blogging story so far.

I started painting some five to seven years back, my daughter was a baby then and I wanted to be a stay at home mom . I am a science graduate and trained to be a teacher ,staying back at home was what i wanted but still somewhere during that time I started feeling something lacking in my life Cooking and cleaning doesn't motivate me enough to be happy even now .
I use to read a lot,but all new moms who are bookworms like me know that reading requires certain period of peace and quiet which is a luxury with few months old baby.hence I use to be on Google via my phone ,laptop searching for things in general.
Art always mystified me.Whenever i would see something i liked i would ask myself the question oh! how gorgeous it is, when will i learn to paint like that ? I remember even as a little child i was very creative,i would do all kind of stuff at home,but being the kind of shy person i am ,i never shared nor i ever imagined that this could be a very coveted career option for me.
So i started with this first painting which i saw and liked on net...and realized i could draw and yes paint decently :) ..that was the start.
 

This was my first painting ever ,inspired of course,but I was happy .

This was my first step on this journey of self discovery .I painted for few years and as most amateur painters are, i was very shy to show my paintings to anyone.I loved painting but it was for me alone. With lot of persuasion from my husband and a friend i opened my blogger account in May 2010. But  i started sharing my artwork enthusiastically from April 2014 :)...almost a year back.

Sharing my artwork was and still is a great deal for me because these pages of my journal,this artistic journey is the window to my soul.Every blog that i publish showcases me in some way.I deliberate a lot before posting a post and eagerly wait for the number of views and other statistics ,but at the end of the day i love what i make...it makes me happy. i guess that is what art is all about...happiness  :)

 Right now i dont know where my journey may take me but i know that i am enjoying it at the moment... and i guess thats what life is all about :)

One day i was sitting on my porch..just looking at my garden..i saw these beautiful green bee eaters...i have always been fascinated by their tails...and green bee eaters are one of few birds which i can identify with a bare glance....yeahhhh. These bird were sitting on a wire and really a sight to behold...and i decided to paint them :)
                                                  Caged Bird by Maya Angelou is a beautiful poem...the first time i read it..i remember i had tears in my eyes...i decide to write it alongside my birds ..i hope u guys like them :)

hi,
someday i would love to ride a hot air balloon....i mean thats in my bucket list.....when i see a hot air balloon,i think old world romance,adventure,fun and freedom...
            so this week..i had hot air balloons on my mind....i made this watercolour devoted totally to them :) . ...hey and tried my new found love of hand stitching...i stitched my hot air balloons to background page :)..i hope u guys like them :)
