fabulous...unlimited

hi, few weeks back we went on a vacation...i have already blogged about it here.  we saw a number of birds... and heres another one. we saw not one rather two big Barbet`s.... they were sitting on the peak of this huge tree and were having a gala time over there... whilst we...my husband and i...amateur birders were straining our eyes through binoculars to have a look at them.....:). but we had fun..and birds sat there for ample time to fulfill our birdy curiosities :D
     so here`s my barbet ...along with a beautiful abstract flower painting i made literally out of trash paper ;)..thats a new story to tell...but some other day ;).

hi,
last night i saw this amazing video of some artist making abstract flowers on a hugeeeeee canvas. she did it so effortlessly (it seemed so ;) )...nd turned that huge plain canvas into a beautiful painting. i immediately wanted to do it...apply the idea in my own way...but i have huge fear of big canvases...so tried it on my journal page.... :)
  it turned out beautiful...i love the textures...yup i can now try it on a canvas ;)..
the soc theme of colours is extremly beautiful..nd worked fine for my abstract flowers....so here is 1 purple + 1 purple + 1 yellow artwork of mine.... although ven i photographed it ..darker shade of purple looks slightly bluish...dont know why :)

 this week i made a male and female profiles on the same page :)))...actually i have been trying to make side profile for a pretty long time but tend to get them all wrong...they dont end up looking like people :). fortunately i managed to do not one but two proflies on the same page ...i like them  . i hope u like them too :)

wind in my sails

 Here`s my first post for soc 5 . i loved the colours nd the combination that was given.....2 blues +1 green. Green is my favourite colour ever :))))
 i am also linking it to http://lulupu.blogspot.in/ which has a sea theme going on for the challenge.
i made a card for somebody special ;) and had real fun making it .i actually tried something new for this one.I used acrylic texture medium to create textures of the waves and the clouds. i hope you guys like it :)

i love painting hibiscus...i think it`ll be my new obsession after birds ofcourse...:0
here are two hibiscus i painted and then stiched them on two backgrounds one doodled and other stamped. hope u like them.

Magic...throughout my life i read fairy tales and believed in magic. i am now ashamed to even to tell that at one point of my life i asked god...yup prayed fervently to god...to give me a genie.
  now years later, i have realized god had given me a magical genie to me, i just had hard time recognizing her...my mom .
     i had a very normal childhood...no major incidences to show that my mother is a goddess that she is...my mom a professor in philosophy.. is a very normal mom. she scolded me when i did something wrong...praised me when i did something good...even tried to show off me for my little achievements.
     one of the major things that i learned from her...is to try to be a good human being. unlike me she doesn`t fuss about small things...she tries to forgive and move on when she is hurt and she doesnt sing it everywhere when she helps.
             another important lesson i am still trying to learn from her is not to give money too much value.She is a professor ...and lots of students come to her for advice or help in the subject. in this age,when money is everything, she believes in the idea that a teacher should not ask for money...it is his/her duty to impart education. she says she getting paid for whatever hard work she does in college...rest whatever students she teaches she is fulfilling her duty as teacher...it is her dharam . what an inspiring thought.
                           i cannot thank her enough for these small overlooked things i have learned from her..which are shaping me up even now as a better person. Her love ,her just being there is all the magic...all the luck that i need in my life

three lil birdies

hey.....i took a weeks break from my blog....i was in a middle of lots of projects...most of them unfinished :).... it does not frequently happen but at times i loose interest in a project i am doing halfway through and it goes down from there...does it happen to u guys as well ??? do tell me :)
   i started with a poster project for my daughters room...nd now that half done canvas is lying before me and i want to paint it all white again ;)... i hope i finish it !!
  i did finish this lil set of three birdies made on boxes we usually throw away :)...i hope u like them :)

these lil birdies represnt uss...actually we ,my husband and i,can never really think our lives without our lil girl in it....so ven i wanted to draw a couple painting she has to be in it...i can not paint us without her :)....she is a part of us painting..... so here v r :) all three smiling nd preening for u :)

we went for a short vacation..yeeee....and we saw birds :)
yup i`ll drive you crazy for next few weeks coz i have to make so many birds i saw there....the first one on the list is red whiskered bulbul....
 this one jumped all around our cottage like crazy...i loved her

project with my kidoo 12

hi everyone...
   both us got busy again...my lil girl and I...i needed some stringy lights for my art wall... i know there are dozens available in the market...but they dont have my mark on it ;)...so both of us ( mostly me) sat down for this task.. (ordeal i must say) ...i began three weeks ago with the grand idea of making five petal stocking flowers for each of my 80 lights on the string....gosh!!!
    it ate up into so much of my time and by end of two weeks...after using all of my spare time....i managed to finish only forty...i dont know if i was too slow ;)..butttt i got bored..yup
    then v decided to use some beautiful hand painted paper to cover the remaining lights .....nd my lil girl dutifully painted me some....nd they are lovely :)
we wrapped those around our lights....yes we love the effect..hope you guys too :)

hibiscus

hi,
another of my journals finished....i had such fun filling all its pages....i was actually sorry that it had only so many pages :)...then my lil girl said...mom u should paint the cover too...then it`ll be truly urs.
i grapped the idea...although i know its not a new one...but still i needed alil nudge :)
    so at first i thought I`ll make a girl face..front profile...i sketched well but the painting went all bad...nd i lost all the interest...then thought i`ll make a waves and boat kinda thing...that didnt work out as well..
then i kept the journal down nd went out sat in my garden...sitting outside with birds nd flowers always inspires me :)..nd i decided to draw a hibiscus..
and i love the colour ..texture nd whole feel of thing...i hope u guys like it too :)
